We’ve just completed digitizing a new batch of materials from the Johnston County Heritage Center in Smithfield. Among the new materials are:

• Yearbooks from the Johnston County Training School in Smithfield (1926, 1947, 1956, 1957, 1959, 1962, and 1965)
• The 1966 yearbook from Johnston Central High School in Smithfield
• Yearbooks from Four Oaks High School (1957 and 1959)
• Yearbooks from Glendale High School in Kenly (1953 and 1954)
• The 1912 catalogue from Benson High School
• The 1904 catalogue from Clayton High School
• The 1893 catalogue from the Turlington Institute in Smithfield

These yearbooks, combined with contributions from the Benson Museum of Local History and the Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library in Clayton, add up to more than 200 yearbooks from Johnston County alone. The yearbooks span more than four decades and come from 18 different schools.
