Asheville YWCA Photograph Collection

The Asheville YWCA’s slogan is “eliminating racism/empowering women,” and it has a long history of working for integration, racial equality, and women’s rights in Asheville, NC. The Asheville YWCA Photograph Collection consists of over 400 photographs that document YWCA programs and activities and showcasing the YWCA’s outreach to the Asheville community. These photos were recently discovered and given to the YWCA, who then added them to the Asheville YWCA Archive housed in Special Collections at UNC Asheville.
