DigitalNC.org uses Google Analytics to collect and analyze information about how the website is used. Google Analytics uses cookies, which enable Google to capture information about each user session. The information gathered through Google Analytics allows North Carolina Digital Heritage Center staff to see how the website is being used, providing important information for optmizing the site and sharing out to our partners how much their items are being accessed.

Users can disable cookies on their web browsers if they do not wish to have information about their use of the site captured by Google. If cookies are turned off, DigitalNC.org will still work as designed. AddThis

DigitalNC.org uses AddThis to make it easy for our users to share links to items available on the site through email or social networking tools such as Facebook and Twitter. In order to use this service, users may have to provide some personally identifiable information such as an email address. Please see the AddThis privacy policy for more information.

Disqus

DigitalNC.org uses Disqus to manage online comments. In order to submit comments, users will have to register with Disqus or a supported web service. The Disqus Privacy Policy describes how Disqus gathers and users personally identifiable information. If you would like to submit a comment for an item on DigitalNC.org but do not wish to register for Disqus or another service, email your comment to digitalnc@unc.edu and it will be added anonymously by North Carolina Digital Heritage Center staff.
