Wilson County High School Yearbooks Now Available Online

Early high school yearbooks from Wilson County are now available on DigitalNC. The Wilson County Public Library contributed 35 yearbooks from its local history collections to be digitized. The yearbooks range in date from 1927 to 1963 and represent several different schools, including:


Wayne Community College Yearbooks Now Available Online

Student yearbooks from Wayne Community College in Goldsboro are now available on DigitalNC.org. The thirteen digitized yearbooks cover the years 1964 to 1985. The picture above is from the 1970 yearbook. The original yearbooks are in the collections of the Claude A. Erwin, Jr., Library, located in the Wayne Learning Center.

The school was established in 1957 as the Goldsboro Industrial Education Center. In 1964 the name was changed to Wayne Technical Institute and in 1967 the school joined North Carolina’s community college system.

High School Yearbooks from King, N.C. Now Available on DigitalNC

Historic student yearbooks from the Stokes County town of King are now available in the North Carolina High School Yearbooks digital collection on DigitalNC. The online collection includes seventeen yearbooks from King High School, ranging in date form 1948 to 1964. The original yearbooks are in the collection of the King Public Library, which is a part of the Northwestern Regional Library system.


Palmer Memorial Institute Yearbooks Available on DigitalNC

Four student yearbooks from the Palmer Memorial Institute in Sedalia, N.C., are now available online at DigitalNC as part of the North Carolina High School Yearbooks collection. The Palmer Institute was a private school that operated from 1902 to 1971, educating more than 2,000 African American students. The site of the school is now home to the Charlotte Hawkins Brown Museum, a North Carolina Historic Site.



Forsyth County High School Yearbooks Now Available on DigitalNC

Early high school yearbooks from several Winston-Salem schools are now available in the North Carolina High School Yearbooks collection on DigitalNC. There are 48 volumes online, ranging in date from 1911 to 1963. The schools represented are:

The original yearbooks are in the North Carolina Room at the Forsyth County Public Library in Winston-Salem. 


Mitchell Community College Yearbooks Now Available Online

Student yearbooks from Mitchell Community College are now available in the North Carolina College and University Yearbooks collection on DigitalNC. The college traces its history back to 1852, when a Presbyterian college for women was established in Statesville. The college has grown and changed significantly over the years, joining the North Carolina Community College system in 1959.

 

There are 68 yearbooks available online, the earliest from 1908 when the school was known as Statesville Female College. 

High School Yearbooks from Oxford and Other Granville County Towns Now Available Online

Yearbooks from several high schools in Granville County are now available online in the North Carolina High School Yearbooks digital collection. There are 54 volumes online, ranging in date from 1899 to 1962. The yearbooks are from the collections of the Granville County Public Library in Oxford. The following schools are included:


Vance County High School Yearbooks Now Available Online

Student yearbooks from schools in Henderson and Middleburg in Vance County, N.C., are now available online in the North Carolina High School Yearbooks collection on DigitalNC.

 

The yearbooks are from the collection of the Perry Memorial Library (Henderson, N.C.). They span the years 1924 through 1961 and come from three different schools:

These join yearbooks of the Henderson Institute that are already online, giving Vance County residents and researchers a terrific resource for community history and memory.
